Our highly skilled and experienced professional staff treat children, adolescents, adults, and older adults for emotional concerns and other life challenges. Our counseling staff has the following areas of specialization.

Debbie Mayer, LCSW, CT, Licensed Clinical Social Worker – Director of Counseling and Adoption Services

Child, adolescent, adult, and older adult counseling. Grief & mourning, deployments, divorce & remarriage, school & behavioral problems, parenting, illness & caregiver stress, inter-faith relationships, infertility, depression, stress & anxiety, and adoption issues. Coordinates in-school counseling services to Hebrew Academy of Tidewater and the Strelitz Early Childhood Education Center, and provides consultation to local children/teen grief support group Peace by Piece.

Michelle Fenley, LCSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Child, adolescent, and adult counseling. School & behavioral problems, Aspergers/Autism Spectrum disorders, parenting, depression, anxiety, families coping with illness or disability, relationships, grief & mourning, divorce & remarriage, and miscarriage/pregnancy loss. Provides in-school counseling to Hebrew Academy of Tidewater, and provides consultation to  Yachad, the Simon Family JCC Summer Camp for children with special needs.

Carolyn Lempert, LCSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Adult and older adult counseling. Chronic illness, terminal illness, family & caregiver stress, relationship issues, depression, stress & anxiety, widowhood, retirement, long-term care needs, dementia, and grief & mourning. Provides in-home counseling services to local nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

Dennis Patterson, LCSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Child, adolescent, adult, and older adult counseling. Family conflicts, child/teen behavioral problems, depression, stress, trauma & illness, PTSD, ADHD, issues related to ethnicity, and  serves as a Military Family Life Specialist/Consultant.

Arnold Unterbach, LCSW, BCD, Licensed Clinical Social Worker
