Ensuring the Future of JFS

Endowments

Jewish Family Service Foundation, Inc.

A healthy endowment financially enables JFS to continue its existence as the premier provider of social services to the Tidewater community. The Jewish Family Service Foundation Inc. was established to assist committed JFS supporters in their philanthropic intent to leave a lasting legacy with the agency and those it serves.

Program Endowment Opportunities

Endowing a JFS program will ensure the financial stability and continuity of a program for years to come. Jewish Family Service works closely with the Tidewater Jewish Foundation (TJF) to foster Program Endowment Opportunities. Check out TJF’s website for more information!

Bequests

A bequest is a permanent statement of your values: it ensures your current support of JFS will become your legacy. Typically, people making bequests to Jewish Family Service do so through their wills. Some donors who have revocable living trusts choose to make a future gift to JFS through the equivalent of a bequest, namely a charitable distribution provision in the trust instrument. Normally, an existing trust instrument can easily be amended to include such a provision. If you want to play a part in the future vitality of Jewish Family Service of Tidewater’s, you can initiate a bequest by coordinating with your attorney in consultation with Jewish Family Service.
